“One of the things I found fascinating about (Patrik Laine’s) conversation with the media was that he pointed out Marty St. Louis, the coach of the Habs, was a big selling point for him…it’s not often that you hear (coaching being at the top of the list).” – Frank Seravalli

More and more players sitting up and taking notice of our real life Ted Lasso. That might help offset the media spotlight, cold winters, and Canadian taxes to entice more free agents in future. Has Marty bag skated our guys even once since taking over?

I mean after being subjected to Torts I too would care about the coaching

Looks like Marty’s going to be (or is becoming) the ‘player’s coach’ type of guy.

Street cred. So better than some old retread goof teams hire with defense systems

  6. To be fair, most players in the league right now not only saw MSL play elite hockey, some of them even played against him.

I don’t know a lot of coaches like that. The streets never forgot Marty. Neither did the HHoF. And all those accolades happened just a couple of years ago.
