Signed to an 8-year contract extension in January, Owen Tippett enters 2024-25 set to count for more money against the salary cap than he’d made previously in his career, combined.
Coming off of back-to-back seasons posting 27 and 28 goals, respectively, Tippett is expected to become a 30-40-goal scorer for the Philadelphia Flyers, living up to the expectations of the only piece of the Claude Giroux trade to contribute in the NHL, so far.

Fully uneducated opinion here, and I hesitate to even say this because it's such a "Flyers fan" thing to say… but I think Owen Tippett hasn't quite gotten comfortable with playing mean-spirited sometimes. I know he'll never be a really nasty piece of work, but it's that thing where a player with his size and skill looks through a defender towards the front of the net and says "I'm fucking going there and if I absolutely crater you on my way I'll be fine with that."
so the whole league misses the net a lot, doesn't really make me feel better.
If Tippett can't push people around a bit, get hard and in peoples face to help the team then maybe he's not the guy we need
Tippett gotta toughen up
only 270 games, he'll get better. fans who dumped on briere for the contract are insane. on a functioning capable offensive team his counting stats (which all those fans care about) are waaay better. one negative he doesnt seem to be a one time shooter so ppg totals might never be what we want. love the crazy elite release in other ways though
Tippett didn’t really start playing minutes in the NHL until he was like 23. He didn’t have hard minutes from age 18 like Coots. I think he actually continues to get better and better under Torts. Not a star but better than good
Tippett has only played two full seasons in the NHL. He’s going to get better
'actual goals', analytics aside I think Tippett needs to get a little brutal with his approach this season. No one respects skating around in circles, misisng the net and never hittng anyone. That was Kevin Hayes and they dumped his a$$
