If both stay healty, 80 goals is totally possible

    Considering PP1 will probably be:

Zuk, Laine, Cole, Slaf & Matheson

  3. kevin_yeah_that_one

These two on the PP is going to crush. Laine up top, with Caufield in his office? That’s a nightmare for any goalie.

The optimistic in me wants to say over, but I feel like it will be under.

    Laine 25-35 goals
    Caufield 25-30 goals

Ideally I hope that Laine feels challenged by Caufield and Suzy enough to get back to his old scoring ways. But for me, I want Laine to play the entire season (he’s not been able to do that for a long time) and be a consistent performer (and score 50 goals…). He’s going to be seeing Matthews with that ‘C’ a lot more this season than he previously has so maybe a bit of extra motivation/chip on the shoulder?

  6. Over. Cole regressed a bit in scoring, but his game got so much better and so much more well rounded. I think he takes that improved game and has a resurgence in scoring.

I also think the absolute bottom for a re-energized, MSL coached Laine is 30 goals.

We shall see, but I say 75.

Cole had to mentor and cover for Slaf quite a bit early in the season. Hope the big dog would create some space for him this year instead and help his production.

If next season is a good season, and if they both play with good playmakers/passers, I have them both reaching 30.

  9. – Laine 55

    – Caufield 55

The future is now in Habsland!

If everyone can stay healthy? Sure, over. If either of those guys or dach miss significant games probably not. Better over/under would be games played

  11. Beefiest_bison

Caufield should be in the mid to high thirties. Laine also if he stays healthy.

I’m gonna be optimistic for once and say over, but it’ll be close.

  12. Clustahhh

Honestly why not over , if everyone can stay healthy and have a bounce back from laine, anderson and harvey pinard things could get really exciting really quickly! Its been a long time since ive felt this excited for a season to start

  13. If Laine can stay healthy he can score 40. Especially if he plays with Suzuki, Dach or Slafkovsky.

Caufield might not get 30, he probably lost his spot on the PP to Laine. I’m not saying that negatively, he kinda was near the net last year when the PP started to work, so he could easily adapt to that spot (monahan/newhook/dach’s spot), he’ll most likely get more assist. He’s not just a pure sniper now, if all things goes well I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets like 25-30 goals 40+ assists for about 70 points.

So I would say slightly under.

Based on my precise calculations the habs will score twelfty thousant goals

  15. ItzGrenier

I’d say under, 70 is a lot. I can see Cole scoring maybe 60 and laine scoring 55

  16. Independent-Second-1

My guess has to be under, but not by much

  17. MrWeStEr399

Assuming laine stays focused and healthy he ll put 40 in this year i bet. Caufield may net 30. Id say 60 is likely realistic

  18. piecyclops

At that mark, it’s an easy under for me. I would set it at 52.5, and be very happy with the over.

  19. Remarkable-Car-9802

As a long time habs fan. Under.

You’re dreaming if you think anything is going to go right for them in a year where things look good on paper. It’s just the Habs way.

  20. Past-Parsley-9606

I’d take the under. The over requires both players to stay pretty healthy, and Laine to have a bounce-back season, and Caufield to set a career high. All of those things are possible, but the combination is less than 50% in my view, not to mention that they’re somewhat in competition with each other for PP time.

Over. Way over. Like 2 million goals. Wtf?
