If this was a soccer game they would be carrying Hughes out on a stretcher as he rolled around and milked every second of it. Instead he gets up, wants to play right away, but the refs tell him he has to go off because he's bleeding too much. God I love this sport!

People don't know how to read actions. McDavid was skating behind Hughes. Hughes was going one way with McDavid following behind him, then Hughes suddenly turns around and gets a high stick to the face. He basically ran into it. McDavid didn't know he was going to turn around so suddenly. Sure, it was purely unintentional on McDavid's part but a high stick is a high stick and should have been called.

Missed call, but I don’t believe it was on purpose. Just careless. Should have been double minor. But the retaliation by Vancouver is suspendable. Oilers lost this game anyway, so that’s generally a wash. But at least one of the 2 Vancouver players should get some kind of suspension. Not super long as stick to face in that circumstance was also generally an accident
