Disgraced former cyclist Lance Armstrong has admitted he’d “probably” cheat again if taken back to the tarnished era of the 1990’s. In his first TV interview since his confession, the American told the BBC he was keen to have his life ban lifted. Armstrong was stripped of his 7 Tour de France titles after being found guilty of doping. He’s been speaking exclusively to our Sports Editor Dan Roan.

  1. Cheating implies unfair advantage. Armstrong didn't cheat, they all doped. He was still the best. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a complete moron. If you think any TDF winner since the 80s didn't dope, you really are an idiot.

  2. Nobody wins from the era of doping… I admire him for FINALLY admitting it. Everyone was doing for the most part, it's hard not to feel for him… the winners pay the biggest price, nobody cares about the ones who were doping then but never won anything. Doesn't make it right, but there it is.

  3. He flipping DESTROYED people who tried to speak up. He had the largest platform of any cyclist, ever, and he used it to hurt people.

  4. Lance has this undertone of compassion towards the people he was also trying to help. Can't put my finger on it, but he doesn't sound like that bad of a guy. Kinda sounds like he cares about people… In a way that's sincere… Like he doesn't care how he's viewed, only how he can help. I respect him.

  5. Are there athletes with morals and values anymore. Such a shame!… This Lance guy has got issues, by the way.

  6. Armstrong saying he’d do it again if it was 95 shouldn’t be a surprise. I completely understand that. To be competitive at that time meant you had to dope. Or walk away from the sport with your conscience intact.

  7. Once someone leaves into a world of lies and fantasy, everything that follows is also fictional, since honesty left the room a long time ago…
