Ranking 48th all-time in Canucks scoring is Bobby Lalonde. Drafted by Vancouver in the 2nd round of the amateur draft, Lalonde was a small, pesky center. His measurables may surprise you. Hockey Reference has him listed as 5’5” and 155lbs. Lalonde supposedly earned the nickname “The Flea” given his size and playstyle.
Lalonde started to breakout in his sophomore season with the Canucks when he managed to put together 47-points in 77-games. Pretty impressive for an undersized 21-year old center.
The following season Lalonde only managed to dress for 36-games due to an ankle injury and saw a massive decline in production totalling just 7-points. Thankfully, he bounced back in the 74-75 season and tied his career high with 47-points followed by a record setting 50-point campaign in the 75-76 season.
Lalonde’s tenure with Vancouver lasted one more season where his production fell to 32-points in 68-games & he chose to sign with the Atlanta Flames the following season. Bobby Lalonde did not have a long hockey Career. He was out of the league at 30-years old after managing to only play 1 game for the Calgary Flames in the 1981-82 season. He tried going over to Europe and managed to play for HC Davos, but retired shortly after at the age of 32.
~Not much footage of Lalonde online, but this clip shows how truly undersized he was~ [~https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HksWEbkA0ds~](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HksWEbkA0ds)
