How could he be the best coach if he doesn’t have a Jack Adams award?
I mean, sure, he’s a two-time Cup champion. And yes, he did lead this team to historic levels of both regular- and post-season success, consistently battling through unprecedented challenges like the bubble season, and routine challenges like injuries to superstars, while still guiding the team to victory after victory. And sure, it’s obvious to anyone who watches that he’s an incredible strategic coach who makes smart matchup decisions during the game and has a shrewd mind for hockey systems that truly unlocked the potential of our team’s talent.
But no Jack Adams. Because I guess none of that counts if you coach a well-built team with expectations of success.
