  1. Who-TF would call Makar overrated? That's obsurd. It has to be east coast media who we know doesn't watch any games that aren't in the EST time zone.

  2. My team !

Wish Landy all the best . Dude is doing his damned-ist to get back .
Not sure how i feel about Nuke . Currently not so good , as a member of the Avs . I do hope he gets his poop in a group regardless .
Hope L.O.C and Lehky come back strong as well .
I think Justus is finally going to be the second goalie they've been needing for awhile .
Interested to see how Kovalenko jr. does also . Remember his pops fondly .
    Malinski is sneaky good .

  3. Pretty unrealistic to think Landy is going come back in on the second line, after what is two years without a single game played, and what is essentially experimental surgery (at least for an elite professional athlete).

I would love to be wrong.

  4. Can’t imagine the Avs keep Val. He’s too much of a liability. Great content Shannon, is it October yet! Go Avs!

  5. I can't wait for The Captain to hit the ice again, and I'm really excited to see what Nate Dogg can do after coming off of a Hart Trophy! We also got to keep Mittelstadt and Drouin! It'll be interesting to see how Brannstrom and de Haan perform; those guys were the biggest Free Agent pickups we made. Huge contract year for Georgie, too. Moose and Makar are still kicking butt, too! I do think the Central will be a rocky division to traverse this season, and the…situation. The situation with Big Val is ongoing, but I believe in us. We're in this together, and this season is going to rock! Go Avs Go!!!! ❤💙

  6. As a Avs fan I hope Landy comes back but not sure how well he will be but hoping for the best. The team needs to get rid of Nut as soon as they can. I wanted him gone when he skipped out of the playoffs the first time and now he has done it twice, as a team sport you cant have that. He is a great example of how you kill a team with one player. I do wish him all the best though.

  7. As an Avs fan I have doubts about landeskog. His injury has kept him out for two full seasons. As far as Nichushkin goes, I have been a big fan and think the Avs are a much better team with him on the ice, He has been a huge disappointment for me considering his playoff antics over the last two years. Not to take anything away from Seattle or Dallas, if he had been there I think there is a good chance that the Avs win both of those series. Excellent review.

  8. Good to see Landeskog back at some point and it will give a boost. However, I'm concerned with the depth. 3rd in the Central with 100-105 points.

  9. If Nuke and Landy are back these are the lines i want to aee.

    Dru – Mack – Nuke
    Lehky – Mitts – Rants
    Landy – Ritchie – Kovy
    Wood – Colton – LOC

  10. Shannon, I watch your Avalanche from like 2017 just to make myself realize how quickly things can change.

  11. I think this team is just going to do maintenance. Because the landeskog and nichuskin contracts tie their hands right now. Either both come back (and stay back) in the line up which i think will bolster the team up quite a bit. Or one or both fall through and the avs will have roughly 7-14 mil to play with.

  12. I'm a little worried Gabe returning is going to be similar to Peter Forsburg's return in the mid 2000s after he was out forever due to injuries and surgeries. I hope I'm wrong and he's still the same fierce player he was in 2022, but two years is more than enough time for a star player to permanently lose their edge. As for Val, the guy obviously has problems and his disruption to the team is no small matter. I think they should just trade him and allow him to become someone else's problem. The final loose piece is Gorgie. He's a good goalie, but not a great one. He's way too hot and cold in his performance to ever win a cup. The Avs need someone who performs way more consistently from game to game, obviously consistently good. I think he'd be a good backup, but the Avs need a top contender if they're going to avoid a repeat of 2023 and last year.

  13. Georgie is a solid goalie. He had a great year his first season. Last season, not so much, but there were also some massive defensive issues that didn't help him. He's entering a contract year and Juice is looking to be a solid goalie.

  14. A real dice roll of a season. If everything breaks their way (Landy, Val back to peak, goaltending good enough, Mittlestadt breaks out) they could definitely win another cup.

  15. That jersey looks really good on ya Shannon, you should wear it for all the remaining reviews… ok I tried…😂… God i hope Gabe makes it back and helps us to nail another one 🏆😎

  16. Is this one of my childhood favs' Nords/Avs/Habs/Bruins (Kovalenko) offspring there? If he his, nice, he wasn't in the NHL long enough strangely but he might have had children while in north America. If he's unrelated, oh well, but these days it rarely is, so many sons of ex players are around, some piercing, some roaming around like Adam Foote's kids or Theo Fleury's, but others are pretty efficient, like Max Lapierre's son, plays the same exact style his dad did too.

  17. Could Nabokov play? Or he is staying in the KhL, he has amazing stats in the K.

  18. All Hail Cale! Hes the best dman in the league; agreed! Hes always getting points, and is always skating with such grace, yet coming thru the zones like a fastball! Good job shanny! Spot on!

  19. A good defense core? I disagree hockey guy, they don't have defenders. Defense IS NOT offense. Avs fans are so delusional. The Avalanche dropped to 17th in Goals against because they've become an offense only team uninterested in defense. They leave their goalie out to dry. This is why they'll not win any cups any time soon. The GM has made the team ultra small (smallest in league) and weak and continues to fill the team with guys that have no grit, no size, no actual defensive mentality. He's made the team heavy passers/puck movers on the back end. Josh Manson is so fucked trying to be the only physical defender. They will do just fine for the regular season, probably only getting 2 or 3 in the division but then lose again in playoffs. The GM is wasting Nathan Mackinnon's best years. Without the size and grit of landeskog and Nichuskin the Avs are nothing.
