Let me know your thoughts on this move with the termination the Flyers and Preds who each hold 4M on this contract would get their cap space back for the time being but that could change with a grievance.
So he plays the game before the trade and suddenly can’t play when he gets shipped to Philly. Because he didn’t want to play for Torts? Probably. Because he was waived and sent to the AHL? He’s a going to grieve but he has a very flimsy case.
So that means Nashville is off the hook for the other 4 million…??
He'll get bought out and become a millionaire car salesman.

Looking at his stats, how this guy was being payed 8M a season is astonishing. Doctors in pro team sports should work for the league not the team, the team does pay the doctor salary. It's so easy for the flyers to manipulate the doctors in this situation. Every team gives a list of 5 doctors the league will choose from. The league picks the doctor an they sign a 5yr contract. When it's time to renew the contract they go threw the same process with the current doctor automatically being one of the 5 options.

He was damaged goods? Refuses not to play for Philly? Either case Ryan should not be paid. Not only Philly but Nashville if it is medical.

Thank you for the vid, Mike. You're right about Torts & Johansen. When Briere made the deal, they had no intention of playing him in the NHL under Torts. He was going to be put on waivers & sent to AHL LV for the rest of the season. Then, he was going to be either flipped in the offseason or bought out.
Johansen knew that, which is why 2 days after playing for COL, he suddenly couldn't play. My hunch is they have evidence Johansen is doing activities an injured player shouldn't. 'Tis the season for outdoor recreation.
The biggest takeaway: the Preds have about $6m in cap space remaining with a top tier G prospect to trade… Could a center or top 4 damn being heading to Nashville?! If NSH includes Fabbro in a deal, could they get BOTH?! That'd be insane

if he is INJURED then he is INJURED and shouldn't come back tell he can play pain free . the league needs to stop having players go out and still play injured and risk getting a major injury or even worst a career ending injury . as a Flyers fan it will be great to get his Cap hit off the books and for what ever season sounds like he don't want to be in Philly . it's his Career if he don't want to play here in Philly for what ever reason i have no hard feelings and don't let the door him in the A$$ on the way out either. i love all the Philadelphia teams in sports as fans we have to stop getting mad when players don't want to play here
