Ivan Matyushenko analyzes his supermatch against Alizhan Muratov

Ivan Matyushenko has commented that he has started training for his November match against Alizhan Muratov after a break of just over a month. Ivan now feels some discomfort, although he’s improving because the weights he’s lifting are heavier. He hopes the pain will decrease and that he’ll be at his peak in November with both arms. Ivan says his left arm is at a higher level than when he faced Artyom Morozov.

Regarding the analysis of the supermatch, Ivan believes that the best strategy for him would be to pin Alizhan in three to five seconds. Ivan hopes to be faster than Alizhan and finds it difficult to stop Alizhan in a defensive position for a long time.

On the day of the match between Alizhan and Ivan, there will probably be a weight difference of about eight kilos. Ivan believes he has a chance to win against Alizhan, and the supermatch is fifty-fifty.

  1. I see a good war first round but alizhan endurance will take over and win 4-0. Ivan is at the age where a good stop will drain him big time. So as much as i like him, I dont see him winning this one.
