  1. I respect Liam's confidence, but I am on Tyler's team with this… If this is a discussion during the regular season, it is going to be a gigantic distraction for what is going to be a critical year for the Oilers, the amount of press surrounding this has already been exhausting.

  2. Draisailt should be sign before season start.Oilers want to keep him ,Leon want to stay so why wait .Oilers cant loose draisailt for nothing .You think mcdavid will stay . The team will not be that good if Leon go for nothing .

  3. Draisaitl needs to think of the team. He deserves to be paid for his performance but if he wants the Oilers to be competitive and win a Stanley Cup…or 2, then he needs to think big picture and understand that cap is a factor in building a Cup team.

  4. Matthews has the highest cap hit right now at $13.25M per season. Drai's new contract should be $13.5M to $13.8M per season for 6 to 8 years plus front-loaded with bonuses which would make him the highest paid player in cash and cap hit. Anything less than that would be a discount or underpay which would not be warranted since he's been playing on a value-contract for years now. Any more than that would also be unwarranted since it would show a higher motivation by money than the goal to win a cup or cups.
