Life is so unfair man. RIP.
I didnāt realize Matthew played for the Royals.
Just devastating. Iām getting married on Sunday and I cannot imagine what his sister is going through. Hold your loved ones tightĀ
Remember to always say See you later & not good bye & also I love you. You never know when your last day is coming
I, like many others in this sub, have friends and family that were involved in the hockey camps this family ran and the deep hockey roots he had here was always a point of pride for the hockey family in this area. This is devastating. My dream of having him lace ’em up for the Flyers never made much sense in reality or financially for us, but still some part of me held out hope. In place of that though, the give back to the community was tenfold. RIP, Johnny Hockey, I hope you’re dicing up some of the all time greats on the frozen pond in the sky right now.
My favorite non-Flyer. This fucking sucks. RIP Johnny and Matthew. I canāt stop thinking of their poor family that got torn apart overnight.
Obviously devastating doesnāt even scratch the surface for so many reasons, but this is such a loss for the Philadelphia hockey community. Probably the best player ever to come out of the Philly area and by all accounts an incredible human being. You couldnāt really ask for a better ambassador to the sport in our region. I was convinced he would be a Flyer one day.
Jesus dudeā¦ no words to describe how terrible this is. Fuck.
