Mandate wooden sticks, then the shots are a little slower and lower. Then you can remove a little bit of goalie padding. Then you have more goals. And less plays that are ruined by broken sticks!
Makes you wonder if 7 seconds to go get a stick and get back is better than 45 seconds of skating around without your stick?

If a guy breaks his stick he should switch with the high man and cover the point. You can still block point shots with no stick. Blueger didn't switch with him. So then there's just 2 guys in front of the net totally uncovered. All Letang can do is try to shove them.

Couple of things on the first one. 1. The forward on the left point should of handed his stick down to him. 2. He had multiple opportunities to grab a twig from the back up goalie who basically had it at the top of the circle. 3. Rotate with the forward to get new twig. They switch positions problem would of been solved.
Bottom line the entire line is skating wind sprints for the last 5 minutes of practice.

You don't see the same player stick break like that too often, I hope that they recheck that game to see if there was any cheating. Not that there was any or that I'm believing there was a dishonest person; just that it's possibly the best case scenario for Washington there, and it really suggests sabotage. (although entirely possible for a double-stick break)
