He was over confident when he said he would fill Arizonas and Montreals nets with pucks for passing on him that was a huge red flag.
I remember screaming at the TV “NO, YOU NEED A DEFENSEMAN” when the Wings picked him. The TV politely said, in close caption, “too bad you GM wannabe”
It’s funny how his agent denied talking with the Sabres almost making it seem like he’d be on a better team just to sign in Sweden

I’m not sure why everyone is hating Zadina. There are only 3 forwards that have more points than Zadina (91 points).
Don’t forget, Veleno and Berggren are 2018 draftees. I wouldn’t call them bust eithers. It’s the toughest league in the world. Only few players become stars. And Toronto is a good example that you can’t win cups without 2-way players mentality.

Do I want to count out a potential return of Filip Zadina to an NHL team? Although I don’t want to do so just yet:
– Nail Yakupov, drafted first overall by the Oilers in 2012, lasted six seasons in the NHL before having chosen to try to resurrect his hockey career back home in Russia
Jake Virtanen, like Yakupov 2 drafts before him and Zadina 4 drafts afterward, was drafted in the first round of his NHL Draft year (sixth overall by the Canucks) and also hasn’t returned to the NHL (almost ready to start his third straight hockey season playing overseas)
