Shane Wright won yesterday, Iโ€™m so sorry for posting late. This player doesnโ€™t have to have played in the NHL

It feels wrong not to put Shane Wright again. He was literally supposed to go 1st and fell to us at 4th. Usually the 1st overall is pretty clear, they might go 2nd, but 4th? And after another C? Shane Wright has my vote

Jagger Firkus just you guys wait ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿค

Goyette. He was the 5th to last pick in the second round and led the ohl in points last season. My runner up is Clarke Caswell

So many good options. I want to say Shane Wright but Evans looks like Vince Dunn 2.0 which you can’t have enough Dunns. I’m sticking with Wright for now.

I mean it has to be Wright again, no?

  7. Wright is the obvious answer but could be Catton.

I have a hard time saying a 4th overall is a HUGE steal even if they feel 3 spots. With that in mind I’d say Rehkopf or Firkus.

There is a few guys who can be here, I think it’s between two guys that deserve it

First is the popular one in this thread, Carson “Razor” Rehkopf. A player who going into the draft looked like a solid 3rd line 2way center quickly morphed into one of the best goal scorers in the whole chl, with an nhl level shot and plenty more growing, he’s got the potential to be a first line winger that could make a major impact. His being a middle of the round 2nd rounder makes our scouts look like geniuses to be able to predict he would become a elite level goal scorer after not looking like one.

Now, my personal choice for the biggest steal is a name not yet mentioned

    Ryan Winterton

Winterton was our 3rd pick ever, a high 3rd rounder, and he is allready far ahead of what a normal 3rd rounder would be expected of. His first year pro which featured him moving to wing saw him become one of the best goal scoring rookies in the ahl. He had an amazing playoffs where he in particular was one of the best rookies in the cup final (shane being imo the best with his god like performance). Winterton looks like he’s gonna be an amazing pker and a solid middle 6 winger who has offensive talents while being a defensive stalwart, the fact we got him in round **3** should make some teams feel bad

Jared McCann since you didn’t say Entry Draft, so I’m gonna include the Expansion Draft as well.

He’s the only guy on the team consistently scoring goals and is on a great contract. Tons of analytical models were super high on McCann going into that offseason and I think basically every single person doing mock drafts had us taking him.

Event better, the Leafs traded *for* him for us to take from them. Absolute galaxy brain asset management by Dubas.

I’d say Catton, Firkus, Goyette or Rehkopf but none of these players have played yet and shane wright was voted in yesterday and beniers was a number 2 pick not enough space to really be called a steal

  12. OskieWoskie24

Ty Nelson is another player that could turn out to be a steal in the 3rd round.
