I’d be happy with them re-signing McCabe, assuming it’s not an unreasonable extension. He’s not the best defender in the world at times but he always plays hard, has an underrated offensive game, and sticks up for his teammates which is needed on this team. I’m all for re-signing a top four d-man who can play both sides, again assuming it’s at a reasonable price.

He is by far one of my favourite depth players. Hammers people on the boards like a Mack truck and plays a pretty responsible game. I’ll take him on a reasonable extension all day.

McCabe turning 31 you just hope the long-term back end locked up above the age of 30 can contribute to their cap value. Would be crippling to end up with a long-term d man eating up a big cap hit that can’t be played.
The nature of the cap, these are the contracts most likely to kill you. It’s not Matthews at 13M, it’s a Jack Campbell at 5 and shitting the bed
