  1. Honestly i dont think they try to force it despite our win now hopes especially since the contract ends after this year and then the cap goes up and we will be good though thats 1 less year on higher contracts that will have to be redone like hughes

  2. saw a living room interview with poolman and he is loving staying at home getting a pay check. he's not the least bit interested in playing again. CBJ?

  3. A team that’s over the cap needs LTIR. So they can pay VAN for that cap space. So giving up our pick doesn’t make much sense unless we need to clear $2.5m of regular cap space.

  4. If Pods move make sense, so does moving a draft pick. There will be a wave of promising prospects awaiting in our system coming 2025-26. Win, win.

  5. Why not trade poolman to a team that’s already at the cap, or over, so they can use poolmans 2.5m in ltri to be cap compliant? (Like what Vegas always does) That they you can acquire a draft pick instead of giving one up and clear the same cap space. Seems stupid to pay.

  6. CBJ can't make cap floor, NHL rumours are other teams are offering bad deal for nothing or CBJ pick if % incl. Van should try poolman for nothing

  7. How many times are you going to talk about cap savings lol…. its like the 30th times you've talked about it.. 😂

  8. You're not freeing up 2.5 million every single day. You're freeing up the prorated amount a 2.5 million contract on a per-day basis, which could equate to a 6 million player at the deadline. And yes, the Canucks should absolutely get rid of the Poolman contract for giving up their 4th round pick. They need all the cap space they can get for a top-4 d-man heading into the playoffs.

  9. Lego! This was the most frustrating video! The entire point of this would have been for you to explain the pros and cons of putting/keeping Poolman on LTIR vs trading him. I still have no idea! Why not just put him on LTIR, free up the cap space that way, save the draft pick, and if by some chance Poolman does unexpectedly come back by the playoffs, we can activate him and have free defensive depth.
What am I missing here? This should have been explained in the video, big missed opportunity on your part.

  10. I wouldn’t want to pay any more than a 4th round pick to dump Poolman’s contract. He only has one year left and a relatively low AAV contract. Besides, Columbus needs to hit the cap floor and this could help get them there.

  11. I never understood when we signed Poolman? Because he played with Boeser I guess? It’s just been hurting us for years it seems like. Wish the best for Poolman, still definitely made way more than I ever will
