Watching this eulogy was a mistake before my gauntlet of meetings. No one deserves this, least of all a family that holds so much love for each other.

  2. Aa far as I’m concerned the whole family are royalty here now. I really understand Johnny’s choice now after hearing more about the whole family. Was only ever upset with you because I thought you had let go of us – little did I know how fortunate we were to.have you. Rest easy Johnny and Matt – your families will want for nothing when they come to your second forever home in yyc. We will be sure your kids know how much you were loved – and how strong their moms are.

  3. it’s devastatingly beautiful to see how much one dude can unite a city.

and i’m extremely grateful to be a fan of this team.

i’ll fucking forever cherish game 7 vs Dallas.

it was Johnny fucking Gaudreau who lit up that fucking lot, sent it into fucking chaos.

genuinely a core memory for me i’ll never forget.

    thank you Johnny.

When is the bronze statue going up at the new arena?

I wish at some point when Guy and Jane are feeling better they would come back to Calgary and give the flames fans a chance to show them how much the family is loved here.

Can’t believe she is 9 weeks pregnant. What a tragedy in every sense of the word.

•The team that plays Columbus first ought to concede the game to Johnny and Matthew.

•Perhaps an empty net goal for Johnny, a slow breakaway, perhaps Monahan, with the visiting team falling away, the fans on their feet screaming, yelling, cheering, smiling, finger in the air, pointing up

•It’s only fitting. The right thing to do.

Canucks fan here. Johnny was an amazing player, so incredibly talented, and he lit us up for years. Meredith’s eulogy just shows how much your city, the Flames, and all of you fans meant to him and his family.

When both the Flames and Blue Jackets organizations honour him this season, I will certainly be watching and remembering him.

The entire hockey world is with you in mourning. Sending hugs from the west coast. Gone too soon. RIP Johnny and Matthew
