I’m worried that the 8″ downgrade from Skjei/Pesce and Ghost/Walker is going to drop the Canes from top-5 Goals Against to middle of the pack
Canes have always been good about shutting down superstars but Rod leaned heavily on Skjei/Pesce to do that. I worry top-heavy teams may have their way with this group.
Nothing to do about it until Nikishin gets here though. This season was always coming down the pipeline.

TIL British people spell it “defence”. The reporter grew up in NC and it’s about an NC team so I’d say that’s more of a typo than a choice. Like 40 times.

TL;DR
Lost some guys. Gained some guys. They have different skills. Should be roughly the same with maybe a slightly better PP and a slightly worse PK, but we’ll have to see. No panic mode confirmed.

I suspect this will be another season where what we’ll see after January 1st may be significantly better than what we’ll see prior to that. It will take some time to integrate these new pieces and for them to learn their roles. Once they do this could be a highly competitive group.
