  1. He was the most dangerous offensive threat on the ice with the limited time he played with two great scoring chances. Not sure what all of you folks are watching he he.

  2. Also let's keep this in perspective. He's getting KHL-level practices. He is around experienced pro athletes and former NHL players. When he gets ice time he mostly plays very well. Of course we all want him to get 20+ minutes per game and play on the first line + power play + penalty kill, he wants all that too. But all things considered, there are a lot of positives to take away here.

  3. Lego you dont watch the whole game like i do. You must really watch the games to know how well he plays. Stats that show the action.

  4. Rotenberg isn't really hockey coach but he is vice president of team and he decided to be coach so who would disagree with him.

  5. Wait are you saying that playing one of your best offensive threats on the bottom 6 hurts your scoring output?

  6. Not directly related, but if Gritsyuk keeps cooking this season then the Devils may have an another high impact player joining them very soon.

  7. After only 4 games, Demidov’s ice time vs older players, makes sense from the coaches perspective. If the coach starts the season playing a rookie Demidov more than the older players, some could complain (specially since they all know he will not stay in the KHL), and the coach could lose his lockeroom/job.

Even in the NHL, coaches will not play rookies more than vets right off the bat.
Unless the rookie gives them reason to after a few games.

Since the team is not scoring right now and loosing, this will give the coach a reason to justify playing him more to at least try something to spark the offense. I expect his ice time and maybe even linemates to change in the next weeks, and if he makes the most of it, and the team starts scoring and winning, this could solidify his ice time.

From what I have seen so far, he still looks like one of the best, if not the best player on the ice in a man’s league at 18 yo. Definitely does not look out of place. So not concerned at all from what he is showing so far.

  8. Maybe they would have more success if he was better used… but they won't. They don't want to invest in someone who will soon leave anyway…
