  1. People were wondering why Fitzgerald signed a few extra defenseman this off-season, and this is why.

  2. I get to have Halloween Havoc 95 flashbacks… mind the all caps… IT'S THE YETAYYY!!!

  3. I still think Utah is going to have a trademark violation with Yeti. The company that makes the Yeti coolers, etc. I'm sure will push back, or Smith will have to pony up a large sum to use it.

  4. I hope the nhl donโ€™t go to 36 teams, and if they do, they gotta think about a play in round. 16 teams out of 36 in the playoffs is getting harsh. More fans getting to enjoy their team in the playoffs is better for hockey and fans.

  5. The U.S.patent and trademark office has the trademark Yeti, and they are all owned by Yeti coolers, LLC. That company has numerous trademarks for many different products, so Ryan Smith will have his hands full attempting to get that mark. I'll bet Yeti Coolers, LLC will balk.

  6. Well, NJ, sorry, our season is chalked. Itโ€™s starting early. Take a bat to the knee of Dougie, Timo, and Jack, get it over with.

  7. Utah Bighorns. A large bighorn sheep, perched on a Utah mountain. What's not to like about that???

  8. I'm not sure that Park City, Deer Valley, Snowbird, Alta, etc – would be very happy if the Utah team was Mammoth – a competing ski resort in California.

  9. It's great that Demidov is being held to professional hockey standards. He will be a more mature player when he gets to the NHL.

  10. Hey, TheHockeyGuy, I am a Habs fan, and I am not riled up about Demidov's ice time. They're only 4 games into their season, I'm not really concerned. In one of those games, I believe he played close to 15-min… Let's wait and see what his ice-time is like after 16 games before making a big deal out of it…

  11. Im a Canucks and Leafs Fan. Im so happy that we don't have any Russians on our teams (other then in development) that we rely on to produce now and in the future. It wouldn't surprise me if most russian players that are in the NHL are trying to get rid of their Russian Citizenships and Passports. If they didn't get a gift from god and weren't in the NHL, what would they be doing as a fighting age male right now?

  12. L.Hughes out, Nemec out… These were the players that needed the experience, but looks like they've been going at it bit too hard.

  13. With the KHL you have to understand that ice time is doled by seniority and not skill, to a much higher degree than other professional leagues. If you look at Ovechkin's ice time in Russia you'd think he wasn't worth drafting.
