Tyler Seguin Trade Stars

21 year old forward Tyler Seguin has been traded from the Boston Bruins to the Dallas Stars. It was a surprising move since the Bruins traded up in the 2010 NHL Draft to select Seguin. The Stars send over Loui Eriksson, Joe Morrow, Reilly Smith, and Matt Fraser for Seguin, Rich Peverley, and Ryan Button.

  1. Seguin is a top player with loads of potential. I was shocked by the trade, especially considering they also lost Horton, Peverley and Ference.

  2. Heck I am 22, if I had millions of dollars and was a big time athlete I would party as well. However during the playoffs….worst idea ever man. Seguin has potential to be amazing and make big bucks he should really party in the off season if anything.

  3. Seguin sucks, he is completely overrated. I think he'll have a decent career when its all said and done but I don't think the guy will live up to the number two pick hype. This is a good move for Boston.

  4. Saying that he sucks is a complete exaggeration. Seguin may very well have his best season to date coming up. I don't think the Bruins made such a bad deal though.

  5. Right, he scored 67 points at 19-20 years old. He's the most experienced player at his age in the entire NHL. He's a beast. Find me one player picked after him in that draft that has performed better.

  6. Hes overrated because he was a former 2nd overall pick in 2010 and just because of that fans think hes a franchise player. No doubt in my mind he has the potential to be a superstar but its possible he might only end up being as good as a Jordan Staal or a James Van Riemsdyk who were both former 2nd overall picks in recent years which still is not bad at all.

  7. Freeing cap space is necessary, Eriksson is slightly bigger and a proven goal scorer, point producer

  8. You must be a drooling vegetable? because Eriksson had a horrible season last year in a short season also.

  9. Loui Eriksson is more mature, better defensively, more consistent, better offensively, and he saves the Bruins money, the Bruins also have 3 solid young players including a great prospect joe morrow who will contend wit Matt bartkowski to back up the top six d on the Bruins

  10. #19 "Battle along the Boards"? This guy hasn't watched a Bruins game in three yrs. That is obvious!!!! Seguin + "Battle along the Boards" should never be used in the same sentence.

  11. Time will tell who won the trade, seguin is all skill no grit. Eriksson is more complete consistent and mature. If seguin does reach his very full potential 70-80 point seasons then the bruins lose unless the prospects we got make it to nhl someday. But seems even so far. Time will tell

  12. If saving cap space was the issue the Bruins wouldn't have signed Iginla for 6 million. Money was not the issue, Seguin's lackluster commitment was. BTW, they aren't even saving that much from Seguin's salary to Eriksson's.

  13. Kessel has produces minor? Good one, he is a great offensive player who is consistently in the top 10 in scoring.

  14. Well Seguin has now finished 4th in the league in points, and Boston won the presidents trophy. Trade worked out well for both teams.
