Cowan feels like he could be the Leafs version of Brayden Point. A surprise draft pick who arrives just in time to help the club win as major doubts over the core are coming to a head. Tampa had obviously had high profile failures despite winning the Presidents trophy and more success than the Leafs but there are some parallels.
