Good job Charlie
Despite how good he is, and how much he appears NHL ready, I imagine that Jamie Drysdale's situation is still very fresh for all of the coaches. Played on a top D pair as a rookie on a garbo Anaheim Ducks team, and it resulted in the injuries he's still battling through today. More likely than not, I think they're going to let Luchanko work his way up to avoid the same thing happening, and allow him to mature at a steadier rate.

Hey Charlie – it's really the mono infection itself that they are worried about. After a mono infection (usually via Epstein Barr Virus or Cytomegalovirus) , you get swelling in your spleen (splenomegaly) for a few weeks after the infection, which increases the risk of a splenic rupture from physical contact until the swelling resolves. He will ultimately be totally fine without any long-term issues from it, but the Flyers are understandably not willing to throw him into camp with guys like MacDonald throwing big hits trying to make the NHL roster, and actually derail his development.
