So many players risking missed game time or camp just so they can possibly max out their already ridiculously high salaries a bit more is unfortunate. I'm not saying greedy, but it is a shame. Teams win Cups, not just players, or Edm would have one thanks to McDavid by now. There's nothing wrong with taking a team-friendly deal and keeping a team together (or allowing space for someone to join) and give you and your team a fighting chance. TOR is going to have 30% ish tied up with 3 players …

This Laine business is weird. I realize he had a down year but in terms of pure goal scorers he's the best of the bunch. Of all the RFAs he's the only one I believe is worth the money as he easily could be a 50 goal scorer. He's the only of the bunch to score 40. That's absolute elite level goal scoring this generation.
Glendening is a solid choice for Red Wings alternate. I think he has a future with the Red Wings, unlike Abby, who might be on his way out. I don't think they want to strip him of his letter before he leaves.
The jets will sign Connor – offer sheet or not. As far Laine, that might be a different story.

I think Ristolainen was frustrated because he was overworked by the last couple coaches and expected to be an offensive threat while playing with offensive threats.
As for Connor. I silently hope Detroit can steal him without having to offer sheet him. I may be a Sabres fan but I wouldnt mind seeing the empire gain a great wing to go alongside Larkin and Mantha and give them their new glory line
