I love Phil, and I think it's bugging him that he's only 8 points away from 1000. But If I'm a GM and I got a spot suddenly open up, I'm gonna reward one my young guys who busts his ass in the minors first
Doesn't he have some kind of records for longest iron man streak as well? I don't know man… sign him for league minimum and have him as a healthy scratch even if he only plays for 15 games he'll definitely keep the hotdogs warm and the beer cold for after the games😂
Could the oilers use this guy on the bottom 6? Cup experience and secondary scoring. Or does a guy with three cups lose the passion and drive to do what it takes for something he’s already experienced 3 times.
Well 3 cups sure but his last team was Vegas and he didn't play after the first round. Look can Phil help a team sure but he's limited let's be honest he's not a guy who's going to be a leader he's 3rd 4th line guy at best and he's not a guy who teams will line up for at this point maybe a guy to bring in for the playoffs but he's a last resort let's be honest. If Rutherford and tocchet aren't jumping on him that says something!!!
Kessel or Wheeler just older players in general should try playing DEL,Sweden,NLA and represent USA at Spengler Cup or other euro competition/Champions League even if its just 1 year.
I love when people are glazing Phil and throw out the “3 time Stanley cup champ” when we all know damn well he didn’t play a single game on the Vegas team

Phil Kessel would be happy to eat a soggy sandwich.
Phil isn’t a top 6 player anymore and no one wants a one dimensional player in their bottom six. It’s pretty clear why he can’t find employment.
It's unreal that nobody has called him. He is still a great player
Even at half speed he is still better than most, easy pick up for a young team that needs a veteran that would be a difference maker.
Come play with Lucic and poitras

Lost a step Biz? Lol. I'm sure he's lost more than a step.
Marcel dionne did just that.

992 career pts…. tough number to finish on

Still got a great shot and good on the PP.
Does Kessel have a Chiclets Cup yet?
