One thing that doesn’t get talked about enough with Benson is just how much he got robbed last year. Not even counting the hilarious broken stick on the empty net lol. Benson had so many amazing looks where the goalie happened to make a scrambling save. He easily could have had 5 more goals in his rookie season, 10 if the team around h had been playing better.
I can’t imagine that Benson doesn’t score 20 goals this year, just being a bit bigger, a bit stronger, and having a bit more experience. And I think over time he will be a consistent 30 goal, 35 assist guy that also plays the right way away from the puck and makes the game easier for his line mates. He’s a coaches’ dream (Ruff has basically said as much) and truly a gem.

Not surprising at all. Kid was easily the hardest working player on the team last year, he didn’t take a night off
