I don’t think this actually means anything. For context, Tage wore this as a part of a Sabres “back to school” [photoshoot series](https://www.nhl.com/sabres/multimedia/galleries/photos-back-to-camp-2024) for social media. Most players wore old school Sabres gear/90s clothes to parody those cheesy photo shoots from the time.
My guess is that this slug jacket was just lying around (or Tage had it) and they simply put him in it for the shoot. Realistically, the team is totally done with the navy blue era (personally, I loved the navy blue, but I digress). Sure, the team was actually somewhat good with the slug jerseys, but I truly think Terry P. is not trying to revive them for nostalgia’s sake like the goathead.
