  1. Sign him for a one or two year at 9 per season plus performance bonuses. Let him earn the extra if he wants to put his money where it matters, wins. Then he will get another offer down the road for what he is worth after being the number one goalie if he does well.

  2. Many Bruins fans have been vocally putting him on a pedestal for years. So, while it is disappointing and unfortunate, I'm not surprised at all that he has embraced this wunderkind persona and is leveraging the whole situation to the max.

  3. As a ranger fan, seeing Swayman think he’s a $10 million goalie makes me dread Shesterkins contract price tag…

  4. I think the question isn’t framed properly.

I think we should ask, “is [Player] worth __% of the team’s salary cap?”

  5. if anyone didnt see this coming after last years arbitration idk what to tell ya. now you gotta move him if you can. this organization is a goalie factory anyway the team will be good regardless. felgers take on this is spot on.

  6. Ya know…I WAS gonna do a video on this subject but now I can't lol….or maybe I will just steal your footage and do my own? 🤣

Here is the deal. This is almost dumb vs dumber. Bruins were dumb for trading Ullmark before having a deal with Sway, like seriously, how do you let that happen at the NHL level? That said, Swayman has "educated" himself huh? Sounds like he got dumber, which happens alot these days at colleges but I digress….There are two guys in the league that deserve 10mil, both have Vezinas and Cups. The end. Ok maybe Igor but that's it.

His trope about not ruining the market for other goalies later on is some of the most self serving garbage I have heard in quite some time. 8 x 2 or 3 is the best I would give him and THEN if he leads Boston to at least the ECF and does well then you talk about 10 mil. For every 10 mil dollar goalie that has a cup there is an Aiden Hill or Darcy Kuemper who pulled one out for cheap. Sounds like Sway is getting bad advice from a greedy agent IMO

  7. The better question is 10 million worth keeping him off another team because there other teams willing to pay for him even if it’s only for 1-3 season

  8. The Bruins could/would get a lot of high draft picks for Swayman at that salary point…and there's that overhaul of the system, including that #1 center. Note: many non-thinkers have noted me on this post in other threads claiming that this won't bring a #1 center…as though they's be swapping directly player-for-player. That's not what I am implying. Lotsa flexibility if that kind of trade (for picks) went through. Think about it!! They could…find one at the top of that draft; include some as part of a deal with another team; etc, etc… If I were Bruins management, I'd be looking for that next goalie to move in that direction. You see, the Bruins defensive system will make a decent goalie better. Check the last 10 SC winners…not all highest paid tenders. In fact, Binnington beat the Bruins when they were up 3-2. Get that. Having those top lines sorted is more important than having a perceived topper behind the pipes. Consider a good goalie who elevates their game. See the possibilities as all that play is an unknown, regardless of what someone is being paid.

  9. Yeah, I'm not a fan of contracts that can't age well. I prefer my team to be good and competitive long term than have a cup now mentality, only to suck for a decade

  10. @thelockerroom are you really nit picking Swayman comments and comparing pro athletes money to the average joe who is struggling in this economy…… common man! No athletes deserves the money they make but it is what it is because the "average joe" continues to go to games, buy memorabilia, buy TV packages and gamble on games. I personally do not go to games anymore and barely watch on TV because of the absurd money and how your teams strength is only as good as their Cap, not to mention the corruption in Pro sports now due to mass gambling.

  11. Not a Boston fan by any means but hell no. Let him walk if he gets too greedy, he's yet to prove himself for anywhere near that kind of money

  12. B’s can only hope Sway takes 1 of 2 paths. A short term deal for 7.5-8 mil for 1 or 2 years or 9-10 for long term.

  13. as a bruins fan it sucks because during the finals everyone was saying pay swayman whatever he wants and i shared the sentiment, but i don't think anyone was expecting him to demand 10 million… Honestly if Swayman was gonna pull this I would have rather seen them drop him and keep Ullmark.

I love sway but when you didn't even win the cup playoffs how can you demand 10mil

  14. Sweeney made a big mistake trading Ullmark. They could have sat back and got a kickass offer sheet for Swayman in a worst case scenario and still have Ullmark as a starter for several years at 5 million.

  15. no goaltenders in todays NHL is worth more than 6mill a year … Roy Brodeur Hasek and some others were playing 70-75 games a year and were a game changer!!! in 2024-2025 you barely see any goalies play 60 games and 90% playing 50-55 games 🙂 . . . srsly 8 or 10mill a year is a waste of salary cap !!!!

  16. On one season’s performance? Absolutely not. For that kind of contract you need to be a proven winner. After a Stanley cup then maybe he can talk.

  17. Does 10 million guarantee a Stanley Cup? I doubt it! Who do these goalies think they are. Team sport!!! Bruins fan.

  18. As a bruins fan, no, not yet. I'm just thinking back to Matt Murray in net for the penguins and two cups. Then Matt Murray just fell off. This worries me. Considering swayman hasn't even played as a full time goalie yet.

  19. B's had to deal Ullmark by July 1st before his UFA or they would've gotten nothing for him.

"Goalie Bob" Essesna is The wizard of Oz behind tending net- for 21 years. He hasn't let us down yet. We didn't lose him so we'll be fine.

Look what he did with Ullmark.
Joonas will hit his career peak as Linus did.

The franchise made their $ off Sways' story, tickets & jerseys.

    No more hugs
    The story might be over

Habs can pick him up with Price's LTIR.

Or Toronto send Nylander to Boston
    😁
