  1. Successful-Plan114

Murray Baron was pretty good at blocking shots if I recall correct.

  2. thundercat1996

Best shot blocker either Tanev or Ryan Johnson

  3. -GregTheGreat-

Chris Tanev was borderline suicidal the way he’d dive in front of pucks

  4. Ruilin96

Chris Tanev. That man literally blocked a shot with his face and lost pretty much one side of his teeth.

  5. bagels_r_life

Tyler Myers SOLELY for his sacrifice against Nashville.

Seriously though, Tanev is the guy

  6. halfchopped

Sami Salo. Feel like the dude always had some sort of lingering injury cause he was always blocking shots.

  7. NooneKnowsIAmBatman

Sami salo sacrificed a testicle for this spot on the grid

  8. LonelyEconomist

Tanev will win, but honourable mention to Edler who blocked a ton of shots himself. Also was probably responsible for the most shots blocked by the other team.

  9. its_the_luge

Chris Tanev got shelled during the worst era in club history.. Such a shame he couldn’t have played under the Allvin regime.

Murray Baron used to wear ancient shin pads that had flared out with age so that his legs would take up more space for shot blocking. Blocking shots was his entire MO, and I think he lead the league in blocks in 2000-2001

  11. Since 2005 season Elder has the 10th most blocks of any player in the NHL.

Murray Baron had about 1,300 blocked shots in his career.

    Total career:

    Elder 2,016
    Tanev 1,557
    Baron 1,307

  12. myownightmare

My favourite d is Salo and he deserves a very close second place with tanev.

  13. My vote goes to Murray Baron. Tanev a close second.

  14. DaftFunky

    Tanev or Salo.

Tanev edges slightly due to recency bias

  15. shmupmupz

Tanev without a doubt (but Salo has the balls of steel lol)

  16. Famous_Mushroom4213

    Tanev. Honorable mention Willie Mitchell

  17. AdditionalLoad

Sami salo for giving his balls.

But on shot blocking skill , Ryan Johnson

  18. NinjaSlatz

Baron or Tanev is the answer, but shoutout to Alex Edler who’s #10 in all-time blocked shots in the NHL

  19. NerdPunch

For forwards, it’s Ryan Johnson. Dude carved out a 700+ game NHL career by eating pucks.

Plus he’s in the front office now.

  20. nalydpsycho

Alex Edler blocked more than 700 more shots than anyone else in team history.
