  1. Guys, I went to the Friday and Saturday morning practices. I’m hyped for this season. Some younger players have chances to move up.

  2. yeah, hoping some prospects start getting opportunities. everybody seems to be on the Bellmare wagon, but I prefer a guy like Jason Polin. Polin or Ivan Ivan could develop the way a Logan O'Connor went from a fringe player to an indispensable player. PEB doesn't offer you that potential

  3. I will say that if things line up for the Avs and everything goes there way. Just imagine a recovered landeskog any where near pre surgery state, nichuskin not disappearing again, the top lines being their dominate selves, the roaring 20's doing what we know they can do, makar possibly having that bounce back year, Mackinnon has another great season, mikko out does himself because its his contract year, georgiev shapes up and plays more like his playoff self, and annunen takes that next step. The only questions would be about the 4th line and a bit of defense but even then this already sounds like a scary team.

  4. That Third line was so impactful last season. I look forward to see what Wood, Ross and Logan can do this year together as they have had more time together. I would like to see the Avs hold on to Ross Colton this year and next. If this third line has great success, this team could be really good. Depth is key, which players are going to step up and compete on that Fourth Line. I’d like to see Richie thrown out on the Ice anywhere on this Team. The team has a ton of talent and potential. It will be interesting to see what some of these younger players can do this preseason.

  5. I must be missing something fundamental about NHL hockey here. Why not put Calum in even if it's on a lower line? Such a thing, even though he's playing in a pro game, can actually stunt a player's growth?? He should expect to go directly to a top line? Are there figuratively four drafts, then, one for each line?

  6. It seems like the retool is about done and we are re solidifying the line up. The depth is slowly but surely getting better. Man I'd love to see one of these young forwards hit and become a 40 to 50 point producer

  7. If Gabe isn't worth his contract, the only way you move on from it is a retirement. You don't move him to another team

  8. I would not like to be a AVS prospect, you have a 3% chance for a full time spot, AVS like to bring in other people from other teams more than give them a chance, probably because of the Newhook, Kaut syndrome

  9. Bellemare was already traded away once; I would assume he knows his position is not guaranteed. I'm glad nothing's set for anyone on this team – there is a lot of competition and nobody can take anything for granted.

  10. A pinch of reality would do the outlook for the new season good. I cannot share the optimism with all of those cheap, average additions. It sounds as if everything stands or falls with Landeskog and, OMG, the Russian (again). Seems the Avs management will not learn from previous mistakes. As the THN rightly mentioned, this is a top-heavy team and it one of the losers of the off season. Just compare the defense against another defense like Boston. Those guys are average over 6’2” and more than 210 lbs. Now they added with deHaan another weak guy. Size wise this defense is a short and light one. The team depends on MacKinnon. God forbid he gets an injury. Over the last seasons the chance that the Avs would not make the playoffs are the highest. We will see how Landeskog returns, that will decide a lot. I do not count on the Russian, he will fail them again and then gets suspended even longer.
