Ryan, why is the media favoring the Ravens over the Orioles? Two weeks ago when the O's had an afternoon game & the Ravens had a 1 O'Clock, the football game bumped the O's off. I checked the sister stations like 98 Rock & 1300AM and the O's radio broadcast wasn't on there at all. So I missed the whole game. Now you know that David Rubenstein ought to be on that like white on rice. Last Sunday, when the O's got bumped again, the people on the radio directed #Birdland to got to 101.5FM for the masn broadcast. And I picked it up OK and switched back and forth and kept up with multiple games.
What a disappointment this new ownership is up til now. You know damn well that the broadcast money is the lifeblood of the organization-not to mention the only way to follow the games if you don't have MLB Streaming or the non-existing MASN Streaming service. Rubenstein should have all this streaming and broadcast stuff worked out already–along with the MASN hang up with the Nats. You ought to have him on here as a guest so he can tell us all WTF he's been doing all this time. If he got time to squirt people and dance on the dugout, he should have time for vital ownership functions.
The O's got bumped off the flagship station when Navy could have been moved over to 1500AM where they used to be exclusively on the Federal News Network. And then, last Sunday, when the O's game ended as the Ravens was getting started at 4:30, if Rubenstein had himself together, he could have extended access in OPACY as a watch party for the Ravens game & charged a couple of bucks to people not already in the park & discounted food and refreshments. Another lost opportunity to collect some cash for player contracts that got to be paid. I'm not the only one that's got soured up recently on his performance. I'm getting that sick feeling like he ain't gonna be nothing but PGA 2.0. There's alot of people that's not happy with him already & they bring it up all the time when we're sitting around talking. His 1st official act as new majority owner was to announce that ticket prices was going up and cutting the BirdLand Membership perks back! I'm not a Birdland Member so I don't know exactly how bad it was cut, but if this a bad omen for things to come, what can we expect in the future? Bring him on here & let him do his own talking and let him tell the people how much the attendance was increased and how much the revenue increased and what are those figures going to allow him to do as far as signing contracts in the off-season. The honeymoon is OVER. And if he ain't as sharp as most people think he is, and there's gonna be a conflict come playoff time and it's gonna cost the O's, then have him work something out with WEAA, Morgan State on 89.9FM. He can cut a check and have them feed the broadcast as it's a good strong signal here in the City. They could use the $ for upgrades to the school station. And you don't sit there like a bump on a log. When you see things going wrong you gotta speak up and let them know what to do or what is possible rather than let things go to hell in a handbasket.
