We’re so back
Buffalo might be going with their top guns for a lot of these preseason games, because they have to go over seas soon for the two games in Prague against the Devils. Lindy said they do not really have the luxury of having a normal preseason where you get extended looks with rookies in some of the games.
A home win! Well, it's a start anyway. I actually could hear my neighbor when Pitt scored the first goal scream "not again".
Was a hopeful looking game, if they are actually as physical and intense as they were today the entire season then they make the playoffs. No one that watches hockey doesn't think this team has the skill to make the playoffs, just got to put it all together.
In all the recent Lindy interviews it’s very clear he spent the whole summer watching video, studying all the players and talking to them. He already has his finger on so many of the details we’ve been complaining about here for 2+ years and he already has a plan to address them.
Super impressive effort tonight. This is exactly what I envisioned under Ruff & the off-season moves.

I always love that team photo in the background. That's the sabres team I fell in love with as a kid. I even had a SabresJacket just like those worn by the trainers. I miss those days when the sabres were never fun to play against. I loved what was seen tonight.. and hope to see more.
If the Sabres are leaving for Europe on Tuesday then the last four preseason games on this side of the Atlantic will be played by the Amerks players. Is this correct?
NICE to see guys going to the net. NICE to see dmen putting the puck on the net, not trying to rip it as hard as they can with no idea where it's going. When's the last time Sabres had so many guys in front of the net???

Nice start, a positive attitude will help when times are tough. (They will need to dig in at some point) but it was a fun effort all around. In other NHL news sounds like old Lehner has gotten into the drinks cabinet again! Blaming Vegas for paying him to sit on his ass this time. 😉
Nice shots from Jokiharu and Power, the follow-up goal from Lafferty. Lots of secondary scoring, which is exactly what we wanted out of our D group and the new additions! We have 4 scoring lines again, and just as suddenly; a unified, team wide, intense character.Thank you Lindy! He's barely been here and look at this. Fantastic.
I was excited to see the grit the new bottom 6 would bring, but whether they're rubbing off on and inspiring the rest of the team or Ruff is using them as an example to get the rest of the team in a mindset of strong physicality – the feeling these Sabres are bringing is fantastic. I loved it. Fantastic. This team has strong character like I haven't seen since, well…. since Ruff was last here haha. Very exciting. When I saw Benson go at that guy who gave him the little cross-check and then Thompson slamming that player into the glass…. i'm so damn excited. It's been frustrating having a good number of BIG guys on this team whose physical play is surprisingly minimal. Not anymore. When we got McLeod, the most frequent complaint Oilers fans had about him was how he avoids physical situations, avoids hits, etc – i have a feeling we'll get a different version of him too.
It looks like they're gonna try Krebs all over the lineup, and I hope they give him a real actual chance with some Top 6 time. Where he was supposed to be. With everything he's picked up in the bottom 6 roles he could become a great all-situations player if they let him. I believe Ruff will do much better for him. Excited to see McLeod and Zucker, I assume in the next game.
And Dahlin, though I think starting without him will only be a strengthening thing for the rest of the team.

Of the prospects, Kulich looks ready.
The new bottom 6 is a huge positive, takes the pressure off guys like cozens to fight. Why adams didn't revamp the bottom 6 last summer we'll never know.
Preseason for this team MATTERS. The feel of winning and competing at a much higher level than the returning players have felt is critical to push this team. Commit to the plan and trust the system….Momentum matters in ALL SPORTS
The new 4th line made a statement by finishing EVERY check, from their 1st shift to last. Actually was a fun preseason game to be at!

JJ is the real deal. I’m praying that Kulich finds his groove. Benson is another water bug that is pure hustle.

Nice to see guys finishing their checks and going to the net! Loved the intensity! Also loved Lafferty , Malenstyn and Aubel kubel's game. IMO Kulich looks ready for the NHL .
The BAD is the same old story…., hopefully the D coach or maybe Ruff( since he played a little D in jr) can teach Power to keep the opposing winger along the boards and angle him to the corner! With Powers height and reach Pulled pork ( Pulluravy) or whatever his name is , shouldnt be allowed to skate around him like he did on the second goal. Power needs to also use his SIZE more in front of the net! Im hearing when Dahlin returns Jokiharju could be paired Power and that scares me as both of them are to SOFT! Thanks for the video Wayne !
The his game had nothing to do with Pittsburgh. I was looking to see how this team looked with Lindy’s influence. We looked like a different team and that’s what I was looking for.
