If you were going to work in St Ivany what line would you put him on I’d put him on the 3 rd line for now
Sorry DK, I disagree. I see him as a young Orpik who he worked with at Boston College
The diff I believe is that Merino never got strong enough on his skates. St. Ivany seems to be. In fact more so than Pedersson..i think he will be better than Pedersson. He is also good positionally like Dumo was but bigger/stronger/faster/more skilled.
I’m actually pretty sad he’s a RHD and letang and Karlsson are gonna eat so much ice time, if he were a LHD and could pair with one of those guys it would be awesome, but we’ll be really glad to have him when we likely lose both 58 and 65 within a few years of each other.
I certainly have no complaints about a solid 3rd pairing guy at a minimal cap hit
Hey DK. What are your thoughts on Puustinen probably getting put on waivers? I know Puljujarvi has had a solid camp, but Puustinen had way better production and underlying analytics at the NHL level last season in his true rookie year
Still a good pickup. I think he deserves to start on the NHL roster, even if that means waiving another guy that isn't exempt. St Ivany as is, is better than Ludvig, Shea and Aho for 3rd pairing RHD. If he can somehow be part of the effort to fix Graves…
