One Big Question: How deep should Flames rebuild go?

The Calgary Flames are a team in transition, they were once a really good team with a bunch of good players, but they couldn’t get it done so they have now gone into a rebuild. TSN Hockey analyst Mike Johnson and Craig Button examine the One Big Question facing the Flames entering the season.

  1. there is no such thing as a "rebuild", you are either competetive, or not. if you are not, you need to get there. and most of that is based on luck.

  2. We got rid of the guys that didn’t want to be here, and kept a leadership group. Young guys coming up will have good mentors. They’re not going to trade that away. Rebuilds don’t work unless you have solid vets to show the kids the ropes.

  3. tanking for one player when franchise players is not every year is insanely dumb helps a bit but having great scouts and luck makes more sense to me
edmonton had 4 first rounders so then why are they not a dynasty team already and buffalo well ummm….. ya

  4. At this point they may as well sell off what they can at the deadline and eat half of huberdeau's contract, they got some solid pieces in wolf, Coronato, zary, honzek and Parekh but need more young high end picks
