Was expecting a suspension. Not bad

  2. DDDenver

Fuck the dept of player safety, but for once I guess I’m okay with their lax punishments for violence.

  3. AmsroII

Yeah but did they look at the unsportsmanlike knee contact?

I already know the answer. DOPS has been a joke since day 1.

  4. flepine44

The boys will pay him dinner a couple times all good

  5. CrashTestMummies

    So,

The cost of a lunch date with Gallagher..,

  6. Zestyclose-Cricket82

You probably would get fined more if you harmed an actual turtle so it’s all good

  7. Comfortable-Bowl9591

Deserved. Dangerous. There is a way to get back at the leafs. Beat them in the opener.

  8. flyinghouses

He did the right thing and I was happy to see him go for that f****r..

  9. Mbeaud001

Can la belle et la boeuf donate 1$ of every Sheriff Burgers sold to pay the fine?

  10. He’s good to go for game 1 vs the leafs. Good.

  11. lennox4174

That’s a bargain. Worth paying that every game to do it 82 times to Pare.

  12. CarlSK777

Gonna be honest, he should be suspended. Not a fan of players policing themselves. We should move on from that and raise the bar for refs.

  13. DangerDavez

DoPS let him off the hook here for sure. What Arber did is absolutely not ok 99% of the time but on this rare occasion it was warranted.

  14. Setheyboy

Wait just think of this… Laine goes out with a major injury, the department of PLAYER SAFETY!!! Does NOTHING!!!! Xhekaj throws a few punches onto a turtle with his gloves on and he gets a fine!!! Did I hear this right?

  15. SuzukiSwift17

Pare should have answered the bell instead of having that textbook Leafs spinelessness instilled in him. They’re acting like Xhekaj jumped him in a train station or some shit but he followed him around making it pretty fucking clear “somethings happening here”.

  16. Mean_Mister_Mustard

“Reports that a check for $3385.42 mysteriously appeared in Arber’s mailbox following the announcement have neither been confirmed nor denied by the team.”

  17. Say what you will about Parros and the job he’s done but he knows the situation. Xhekaj did what anyone would do and that the other guy was a coward who didn’t live up to code

The wheel is right, the wheel is just

  19. realm_fury

How much was Paré fined for taking out Laine’s knee?

  20. trebuchetwarmachine

    Two minutes well worth it

  21. Kirk_McDirt

Meanwhile, the ECHL knee artist gets away with it. What a joke.

I was very disappointed by MSL last night. Both his actions during the game and words in press conference. If you don’t back your players, who will?

  22. bugsinmypants

Alright guys pass the pot around

  23. G_skins31

I thought having a player like Arber was suppose to not let things like this happen. Sure watching him jump the guy after was nice but everyone acts like having him in our line up will police the game. It didn’t at all

  24. xen0m0rpheus

That’s actually insane and sets a pretty bad precedent not being a suspension. He had to do it, but I also think he should have been a suspension.

  25. TitanicTerrarium

There must be a turtle protection charity out there that needs help.

  26. DJNUTSFORFREE

Im sure Laine will gladly pay for it

  27. rayshinsan

This so BS. NHL should fine the one who caused the injury.
