For Vanecek the devils did not want him but to get traded to the sharks defense is brutal. Grier clearly thinks he has a chance to be an upgrade over Blackwood and kahkonen. That VV and Blackwood only have 1 year left on their contracts means both obviously need to play well for that next contract.
