Bruins Should HOLD FIRM on Their Contract Offer to Jeremy Swayman

On Monday’s edition of Felger & Mazz, the guys reacted to the recent reports that the Bruins have offered a $64 Million dollar contract to restricted free agent Jeremy Swayman. This led Mazz and Jim Murray to make the case that the Bruins should hold firm on their contract offer.

  1. 1. Dump the CHUMP.
    2. Let his arse sit until he fires Gross and comes crawling back begging to play.
    3. This type of bonehead play is the type of move that can destroy a career.

  2. It's a zero sum game. For every dollar Sway gets it's a dollar not available to pay to another player. It's a very slippery slope to play if you really want to win in a hard cap league. I imagine some of his teammates are not thrilled with this.

  3. This asshole is probably asking 10 years 400 million. That's how much of a lunatic he is..The worst part is you can't trade him because nobody is giving him anything close to 8×8 like the Bruins.

  4. Just imagine the hardship of only making 64 million dollars on a job you love waking up to while having summers off and being able to retire in your 30's…unreal. He probably couldn't even tough out playing 55-60 then every other night in the playoffs. We should have a solid 6 defense team to help out whomever is in goal. Trade him.

  5. Send him to europe. Is value dropped when he didn't get the Beijing Olympic experience.

USA trained goalies don't win cups

if he's lucky, he can play in Europe, become a big boy

And make a Tim Thomas NHL come back…

And maybe his medical doctor father will have him 1-in taller when he returns.

  6. Bruins telling every current Bruin and their agents not to try to use the Bruins to set the market. They’ll walk away.

  7. Lead panelists stated the blundered this by not taking Swayman to arbitration but Swayman however gets to decide the arbitration term which he'd choose 2yrs walking right into free agency and thus Bruins having no leverage in any trade deal. As foe keeping Ulmark and shoulda traded Swayman well what GM was gonna deal for him knowing they could be facing this same problem. I had read both players were made available and GM 's passed on Swayman. With that said though Ottawa still hasn't resigned Ulmark so it's pretty easy to be armchair QB ……

  8. Get ready. Today Felger & Mazz are hold steady. Come next spring when he signs with someone out, they'll blame Neely, Sweeney, and cheap Jeremy Jacob's for losing Swayman.

  9. BOLD PREDICTION: Swayman places bets on Bruins games for as long as he remains inactive, leading to a one-year ban. He later reveals this was done as a bargaining chip

  10. Sens fan here…you guys are totally right, probably best to trade him to us…we’ll pick up any salary discrepancies no prob…k thanks bye 🙏

  11. Cam Neely has the Bruins back and I'm with him whatever he decides just like the Jacobs. The man bleeds black and gold going on 40 years.

  12. Good for Neely!! The Greed is too much it's why this whole world is screwed.. 8 years 64 million is a great price.. Swayman isn't even top 5 in NHL

  13. Look at these people in the comments section wasting there time the Bruins should pay Swayman he the only reason we made the second round last year and could've beaten the Panthers if the team scored more and calm down people the Bruins will get this done before the Season starts I'm not believing in anything until we hear from Swayman himself plus his manager an idiot and likes to stir more drama.

  14. 2:28 facts, how are you going to ask for 11 and you haven’t done it by yourself for an entire season and damn for sure never as good as Bobrovsky. 😭 Ullmark probably wondering why tf they didn’t figure that out before they shipped him to the Senators

  15. Trade him, he’s not a proven starter yet and benefits from the Bruins defensive system that has had multiple prior Vezina calibre goaltenders previously in Thomas, Rask and Ullmark.

  16. Send him to the worse team in the league. He had an ok season but a shiny playoffs. He was a good goalie. Not timmy or rask level.

  17. Pay the guy what he’s going to be worth in the future. He should get 5×10 and get another big contract in 5 years or so as a future elite goaltender. Good that swayman is looking out for himself.
