The Penguins have just two preseason games left and plenty of questions to be answered! Patrick and Hunter get you ready for the first game of a back-to-back with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night by talking about who they’ll be watching going into the final two games of the preseason. That includes who they think has to make an impression, who might be on the way out, and which players are poised for a breakout. We now have a little bit more clarity on Erik Karlsson as he finally got back onto the ice on Thursday with just six days to go until the regular season. Finally, Penguins’ goaltending prospect Sergei Murashov started two games for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and looked quite good in the process.

Let’s go pat!
The thing about Puljujarvi that has impressed me the most is his skating. His skating looks smoother, faster and more balanced than I can ever recall seeing from him and that is including his entire stint in Edmonton. I always found he kind of looked like he was off-balance and about to trip, or fall over whenever he was skating fast and he doesn't look like that at all anymore, that surgery did wonders for him it seems.
Looking at the projected lineup tonight, it looks like it's the final showdown for the last 1-2 forward spots. Honestly Puljujarvi should be one of those spots, and the 13th forward I'm really not sure, no one else has stood out that much to me lol.
Actually pretty stoked to watch those top 2 forward lines tonight.
Has John Ludvig even shown that he can be a bruiser? He hasn't even shown that side of his game let alone that he could be a trustworthy 7th D.
Stanley Cup winner, Jack Johnson, was somehow not signed as a FA by the Canucks.
Season almost upon us. Glad to hear karlsson is back at practice. Brunicke has a bright future. If karlsson is ready for the opener, dont think he'll get the 9 game tryout. If he's gonna be an extra defenseman, might as well send him back to juniors to develop his game even more. Cant see him playing over st ivany. Not sure if he can play the left side of defense. He's skating is soo impressive for his age. Looking forward to a possible pickering-brunicke pair in the near future
