I’m genuinely surprised about Pysyk. I thought he’d been one of our better defensive players over the preseason, and given how young the blueline is, that he would at least get a contract as a depth piece.
Thought Harkins might have gotten NHL time as well. I figured either him or Meyer would get some time, just as older players to plug into the 4th line and PK. With them both being sent down, there’s been pretty much no change amongst the forwards on last years abysmal PK unit. Not mad, they’re giving the keys to the young players, but.. you’d expect some teething problems there. Tough to do that and make the call to be in the playoff picture i think.
No surprises on the other players. Lindstrom was out of the Ducks plans, Gaucher and Nesterenko don’t look like NHL players and Colangelo’s most likely roster spot is taken up by our old guys until the TDL at least. Sennecke didn’t look close to being ready for NHL action.
