  1. That was…not the best opener, I can say that. A big yikes if you will but, hey we can fix it up on Thursday! 😅

  2. 1) our defense are big but looked soft. Out of position and no intensity. 2) we know what our core is but what upside do the other forwards have? Zero. 3) if you are gonna try to get revenge on Tkachuk or Bennet you don’t ask politely if they wanna go and they goat you in a penalty. Do what Zack Kasian did to Tkachuk… 4) Most concerning is since late last year pasta is starting to look like a one trick pony.

  3. Game 1s First Star of the Game:
    BUTTCHEEKS

Thank God that we have 81 more games…

Can we put Geekie in the Penalty Box and play on the PK for the whole game?

  4. Geekie didn't just go post and out. He also forced Bob to make a pretty big glove save I want to say in the first.
Max Jones is terrible. I guess he was hurt. But I have no idea why you didn't let Duran or Kuntar play. I'm out on Max Jones 100%.
I think Peeke had a pretty good game for himself. I hate the pairings they put together.

  5. Its funny I was a casual fan till Tampa got a team fairly hard core fan since, hated the bruins every year since forever… till last year, its nice to know this panthers team (and the NHL desperation to build a consistent fan base for them) can bring other teams fans together in their intense dislike for that team. Also good video breakdown as always!

  6. They need a solid Left winger other than Marchand. Jones, Koepke, Tufte suck. Lohrei got beat all game. He’s not ready for the NHL. I know that was only game 1, but since 2018 they’ve won every first game. Would they have won if Sway had started?

  7. whats more annoying is when you hear the announcers like fucking kiss floridas ass and then talk so much shit when boston does anything like they were saying how a boston player didnt get embellishment on something when they got like slashed

  8. This night was the first time since I’ve started watching the bruins ten years ago where for a second I went, “shit… if we need to rebuild, we’re in a very bad spot”. Zadorov, Lindholm, Korpisalo… those deals could be really really rough, and we have very few players who we could actually sell off in a selling scenario who would actually have significant value.

Never even crossed my mind until now. But tonight they looked so incredibly mediocre. No offensive talent outside one player who is extremely one dimensional. I am worried we become the new Minnesota Wild, perpetually stuck in the middle of the league.

  9. That's how I talked about Rask all the time. Sub par goaltender playing on a great team. But at least Rask could track the puck, his problem was he lost track of where his net was.

  10. I think the B's are gonna be fine.Little time to gel and no worries. As for playing Florida, you're getting penalties for basically looking in the direction of the headsnapping divers and they NEVER get caught for instigating OR retaliation.Focus on different targets and get your money's worth.Bennett or Tkachuk wanna take liberties from behind or with guys who don't fight, you run Bob,clock Barkov with a nice elbow to the jaw or piledrive Reinhart in front of the net.If the clowns are gonna act tough, take out their stars.I'd like to think next time they play,Tkachuk is gonna eat Swayman's blocker…

  11. It was the first game of the year and they were not ready to go. And they had many games last year that they didn't look ready to play in the first period. I am seeing a pattern with Montgomery, that I will be keeping a closer eye on.
On the players, I agree 100 with your assement of the forwards. They kept all the big tough guys, but they looked useless against the rattiness of the pathers. when will they learn they won't fight you, and to stand up to a team like this you have to play on the edge. Don't go headhunting but lay them out with an extra stride or a extra second or two after the puck is gone. What are they afraid of, too much turtling by fake ass tough guys?

  12. Like I said on Twitter I missed the first two periods to me sleeping so I don't got much but I'll try my best to add my thoughts as always

    Game Notes:
As always, refs suck. Panthers are a bunch of cowardly, dirty, cowards and I hope Tkachuk, Bennett, and everyone else on the Panthers that plays like them suffer permanent stepped on lego foot. Tkachuk is a pussy rat that is a disappointment to his family name when your brother and especially your father actually back(ed) up their play and shit talking by actually dropping the gloves. Bennett needs to be barred from the league with how he will take any opportunity to try and injure other players. Anyways.

    Offense:
I can't say much since they really didn't do anything, they can't keep the puck in the offensive zone, couldn't set up, and got steamrolled physically when they held the puck. Cannot believe they picked Jones, Koepke over Lysell and Merkulov. So much for trying to give the rookies a chance to prove they deserve to be in the NHL, especially when they played better than Koepke and Jones during the preseason.
Didn't get a good look at the top 6, but I didn't like what I saw, especially from the 2nd line.

    Defense:
Its absolutely ridiculous to see the defense play so shit when it's nearly the exact same D-Core we're running outside of Grzelcyk, Forbort, and Shattenkirk from the end of last season.

    Goaltending:
Korpisalo isn't gonna be a world beater, definitely not a good start for him but he's still in the league for a reason. I expect him to be putting up about a .900-.905 SV with like 3.00-3.35 GAA by all star break once everyone settles in. But definitely not a good night, defense didn't help him a lot though.

    Other notes:
PP is never going to be good again is it, it hasn't been good in nearly 4 years (Unless Bergeron was on it). Maximum Penalties Jones hasn't been a good signing so far. Its only game 1, but dear lord was this not a good sign for a Bruins fanbase that is already super peeved at an organization do to how the Sway stuff was handled and who we signed and brought out of training camp. There's always next game. Let's hope they're better Thursday. Go B's? GO B'SSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

  13. Unironically though this is one of the most undisciplined openers to start a season. The offseason really messed with the organization so I can see how they wouldn't be too upset with a slow start but your completely right, the effort wasn't there, they're still in a preseason kind of mind. Hopefully we don't see this at other points of the year, glad it's only game 1. Go Bs.

  14. A few months on and we added size and beefed up our backend to try to combat what outdid us last year and guess what still beaten by the florid forecheck and willingness to go to the dirty areas. Lohrei looked useless, so did the rest of the D though. Still taking unnecessary penalties against this team, they wont fight but we keep trying, perhaps try getting physical on them during play rather than roughing after the whistle, we know they wont engage so why we keep on trying is baffling. Anyways, probably looking far to critical, its game 1 but I really hope we sort this out soon. Go B's

  15. Honestly I'm more optimistic about this than everyone in here. The way I look at it is, over half the team sleepwalked through this, backup in goal, and it was 6 : 4? I can live with that. I feel like it can only go up from here and I feel there's a very good chance it will as the new guys build chemistry, everyone gets up to game shape, potsy comes back and maybe Lysell gets a callup, sway in net etc…

Also I thought the pp actually looked pretty good at times once they got set up.

  16. Also is it just me or did Hampus genuinely look a lot more like what he did 2 years ago? Some significant improvement there. Really liked the decision to put both Lohrei and Hampus on the 2nd PP, you'd be kinda wasting them if one of them didn't get PP time.

Zacha also had a pretty good game. A lot of small good plays. And a sniperoony n' cheese.

  17. I am going to question Monty out of the gate. You nailed the review. I had no idea what i was watching. Worst first game of the season i have seen in years. I'm so disappointed in Koepke. He had a great camp. Beecher, Lindholm (d), Fredric only Bruin on the ice. I'm not sure 😕 if anyone else lives up to the B. But no cap space from Sway deal leaves us with no scoring depth. I digress your review was spot on. Go B's.
