Great find! As a Polish immigrant kid in Canada who played a ton of street hockey back in the day, I absolutely loved this guy. Named my fantasy hockey team “Fist of Oliwa” haha.

My oliwa story. Before sports gambling was legal in New Jersey I would go to Vegas and imperial palace had a hockey night with a lot of prop bets. One of the bets on hockey night was oliwa over 4 penalty minutes. I bet the over and of course, oliwa had a fight so I won my bet. I brought back the betting prop sheet and showed it to him. It was probably the only time ever you can make an oliwa prop bet. As he came out of practice , he looked at the sheet and looked at me and with his thick accent he said,”if we are playing the rangers or the flyers, no problem”
I remember the Polish fans going nuts with crazy chants in the upper deck at continental airlines arena for Oliwa.
He signed my Jersey upside down. love this guy !
