How did you think Bussi played?
After a lackluster preseason, I'm not as excited for the regular season as I was in August 😂. Go B's Go!
Gotta agree with XCal, the team has not looked good in preseason. One concern is the inability to generate shots, carrying over from the playoffs
I'm a bit worried about the whole season. . .
Never do I use preseason as a yardstick for the season. In this case how many times did the Bruins send out a AHL team in the seven games? 5-6 ? This preseason looked more like assessing talent than anything to me.
I agree with you. The goaltending is scary right now. Geekie is not a 2nd line winger but we have no $$ to get another player. Jones has only played 2 games but hopefully he looks better than last nite. Theres some issues but hopefully it will come together
So am i gonna see my team play the first game of the season? Or am i gonna watch ahl puckwatchers?
They just signed Sway at 8.25 million!!
in my opinion, Tyler Johnson should get closer to 15 points, rather than 50. At 50 points, he would a) fetch a crazy return or b) not get traded at all!
Bussi is good. Needs more work on his weak side. Lycell, although has speed needs to work on his stick handling of the puck. He loses it way too much. I’m not sold on Geekie being a 2nd line center. Personally, I would have Coyle on the 1st line (until Lindholm gets more familiar with the players). Lindholm 2nd line. Fredrick 3rd. Geekie 4th.
i have a feeling this bruins team will remember the next time they play philly.
At first, I was really only watching for specific players and storylines, but I have to say the team and especially our NHL guys looked horrible this preseason. I’m just not reading very far into it and glad they finally got swayman to sign a deal. Shame for Poitras I’m team Matty from day 1 but I’m starting to worry that he’s frail. Hopefully, it’s just precautionary so he can be healthy for the start of the season. Honestly, I think Boston has locked up a GREAT team on paper and it’s hard to tell where they land, but they have potential to be an outside contender. I am a little worried that we are going to be one of those Bruins teams that doesn’t give up very many scoring chances, but can’t score to save their life though
Will Poitras ever stay healthy??
Poitra looks like he's got some good potential, but he's another small player that won't make it through the playoffs. It was the same thing with Grezlyc, and Krug. Even after signing Swayman today it won't change much as far as this teams cup potential. They just don't have enough depth. Still don't have a true #1 center, don't have a real top 6 RW behind Pastrnak. Marchand is another year older and has had like 7 surgeries over the past 2 years. They've got absolutely nothing in Providence. Just a bunch of bottom 6 forwards and younger defensemen. We have no draft picks to trade to get better at the deadline. Bruins can't really afford to trade them away anymore because they really need to improve their prospect pool. I feel like this team is going to be stuck in purgatory for awhile unfortunately.
Swayman IS a Bruin! Signed
The first goal is on Geeke. No way anyone expected that. The second goal was a perfect shot off the bar and in.
Lysell deserves to play. We need skill who can skate out there not a bunch of stone hands.
Poiitras is an injury magnet. Needs to muscle up and get more durable.
It’s going to be a bad year
Poitras is not going to work out on the team. I could cry. His hockey IQ is huge. He sees plays developing over the whole rink, and his forecheck is RELENTLESS. Sadly, he's too fragile and he's not cut out for the NHL.
Thank you for these reports – they are so valuable for me a fan. Really appreciate the details as we follow along. I look forward to all of your update reports.
