I dunno how anybody could dislike Keefe. It was time to move on but he is a good coach and I hope he does well with NJ, just not versus the Leafs. I would root for him to go all the way if the Buds are eliminated.

I mean this was about as amicable a split you can have between coach and team.
I think it was pretty widely accepted by everyone that Keefe is a good coach, and the change was more related to it just being time for a change than anything else.
I think he was one of the longest tenured coaches left by the time he was let go.

I’m 30 years old and he’s my favourite Leafs coach of my lifetime. Caught a lot of flack from the fanbase but I’ve never seen this team as competent and structured as the teams under Keefe.
