Refs give an absolute bullshit penalty with 2 minutes left, Kings take a shot, hits the post, goes in. Game over. I would be flabbergasted by the bad luck in this game were it not the Sabres

The fact they played well for 55 minutes is gonna be outshadowed, and deservedly so. There are positives to take from the game (Benson and McLeod look wicked good, Kulich looked much more like an NHL player, PK overall was great), but still plenty of work needed to be competitive
I liked a lot of what I saw tonight, but it’s still completely baffling to me how they look completely uncertain as to what each other is going to do on the PP, despite many of these guys having played with each other for multiple years.

It’s fucking killing me right now. I miss when I was a kid, and I was always excited to watch the Sabres take the ice. Now it feels like some level of masochism. Buffalo needs something good to happen for once besides watching all of our sports teams piss away their chances.

I just feel bad for the fans and honestly even the players sometimes. It’s just kinda sad.
I’m just mad I have to wait 2 days for the next game. That sucked but it was far from unwatchable hockey.
To be fair though, I’m not really sure what unwatchable hockey is.

It’s wild that this team just can’t do anything right. They played well and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Just wild. I don’t know if it’s a lack of concentration or what, but they had so many opportunities and got shit from it.
Things I liked, things I didn’t like… But zero points after 3 games for this team is damn close to a death sentence. They need to get a run going and dig out of this hole and give the players confidence real quick. Guys who have been in the organization for several years probably feel like this is just a continuation of their previous failed seasons.
I have never been so impressed with a game.. and then know exactly what was going to happen. Clear check from behind where Krebs has to step in, but we get an awful call on Zucker. Which results in a stick that breaks and a 5 on 3 with 3mins left..
They need to hit the net when they get their chances, but this game was promising. They played really well and deserve this win, but when it was even at 8 minutes we need a point not matter what
As soon as they scored immediately in the 3rd I knew it was over. That’s how fucked in the head this core is
Sucks Benson’s goal didn’t count by a millisecond, then we would have been tied and not had to go empty net and won in overtime.
