When I saw them hit the boards my first thought was oh no, Timmy, but he jumped right up. It took a second before the camera panned back and we saw that Barkov was still down. Hope he's not hurt too bad. Those type of plays are just scary.
Almost the exact same thing happened to me when I was 15 in ‘76, except the other guy fell on top of me and I was face down going into the boards with no way for my left leg to bend. Broke it in 3 places. His looks better at least. Mine was bent 45° halfway down the shin where it has no business bending.
That’s unfortunate. Barkov seems like a decent dude and is a great player. Boqvist tried to eat a puck in their first game and now this. The most unfortunate thing about both incidents is that it wasn’t Tkachuk or Bennet. I’ll just have to cross my fingers that Karma gets who she’s aiming for next time and the Panthers don’t lose half the team to collateral damage.
