We can't hide it so we must accept it and work in practice because it's a long season. Yes we were cheated again, but what are we going to do about it is the real question. Work work work.
This is why I wasnāt buying into the hype preseasonā¦.. the roster construction is flawed. Right side of the D is a mess, Skinner is a mediocre 1B goalie at best, Nurse has the worst contract in the league, not enough depth up front to challenge the top six. Itās looking ugly already.
Oiler fan here. Our problem is lack of energy. Even we when have the lead, we always let our foot off the gas pedal. Skinner wasnāt all at fault tonight. Refs definitely made a change in the game and Defence COULDVE gone better. Nurse with the 9 million contract isnāt going good as he could be either and he out of the most oilers needs to wake up. Not enough chances for shots and when we do have chances we donāt take them. Getting near the same problem as last year but definitely made a change so not as worried for this year but we shouldnāt make the same mistake as beginning of the season last year and DEFINITELY donāt need any changes with Knoblauch.
To many guys watching waiting for someone else to make something happen. Only people that skated a full 60 where Jeff Skinner and Arvidsson. Ironically both new to the team so maybe it's a culture issue.
McDavid's ego and selfish play will continue to prevent Edmonton and his teammates from ever achieving their ultimate goal of winning the Stanley Cup. Interesting that the finger-pointing is always at anyone but McDavid. There's no 'McDavid' in 'T-E-A-M'.
