Where are people finding these pucks that they don’t know who signed them? This one says his father, but we get posts like this every day.

That is Rangers legend Wru Muly. Dude was a beast.

    For clarity:

*No, I did not know this was Wayne Gretzky’s signature.*

As I said, I got this from my father. He recently gave it to me, as I am starting to get into Rangers hockey, and he’s very excited (I’m a new fan, this will be my first full season watching). He had let me pick from a collection of pucks he had from over the years. Naturally, I picked the most appealing one: the one with a signature, without bothering to ask whose it was. I also took a 1994 Rangers Stanley Cup Champions game puck (no signatures), and a Henry Lundqvist puck with his picture and jersey number on it (also no signature).

Later on in the day, I grew curious about the signature. Instead of doing the normal thing (asking my father about it), I googled, “New York Rangers, #99,” as the ‘99’ on the puck was the only clear thing to me. The first result was a Wikipedia page on the NYR’s 1999 season. I got lazy, as I had other stuff to do in that moment, and told myself I’d look further into it later.

The next day, I remembered that on this subreddit, some people had been sharing posts of memorabilia with signatures, trying to figure out whose they were. I figured it might be fun to share my own hockey puck, and see what turned up… to say that I was shocked would be an understatement.

I’d like to say thank you to everybody who replied, and sorry for the confusion with thinking that I was joking lol, or that this was a parody account. Like I said: I’m new to this whole thing.

Also thanks for the replies about Brent Gretzky and stuff; I got a real laugh out of them. If one of his pucks turn up, I’ll be sure to give it away for “proper disposal,” 😉
