The Dallas Stars and Casey Desmith shutout the Seattle Kraken 2-0 on Sunday night. The Stars scored two goals within 13 seconds of each other in the 1st period, the first from Sam Steel followed by Wyatt Johnston. Desmith made 25 saves in the win as the Stars recorded back to back shutouts with different goalies for the first time in franchise history. Joey breaks down the game and gives his main takeaways from the Stars win and why Dallas has been able to win despite playing their best hockey. Mason Marchment continues to be impactful along with his line providing some steady play for Pete DeBoer. Defenseman Nils Lundkvist and Ilya Lyubushkin have got off to great starts and the Stars will need them with the possibility of Matt Dumba missing extended time. The Stars prepare for San Jose on Tuesday without Macklin Celebrini and will be a good test early this season for Dallas.

Our offense has played excellent defense the past 2 games. The 4th line has been awesome so far as well. Just gotta get on those zone exits and unlock the power play.

A win is a win but I think more of our lines should have scored a couple more goals. I think we kind of played on our heels offensively. I wish we had someone that hangs out more around the opponents goal. I did like the play of Beck.

Crazy to think we’re winning but we haven’t even hit our stride yet. Not even close I don’t think. If we ever get our PP to show up, we are going to be a high speed locomotive.
