GAME RECAP: Penguins at Canadiens (10.14.24) | Lars Eller Scores Twice

Tristan Jarry returned to the net as the Penguins concluded their road trip in Montreal. Lars Eller got things off to a great start for Pittsburgh, and roughly 10 minutes later, Rickard Rakell put the puck past Montreal net minder Montembeault to increase the lead. Guhle would get one back for the home team before the end of the period. Slafkovsky started the middle frame strong for Montreal, evening the score. Heineman notched one later in the period, giving the Canadiens their first lead of the evening. However, Eller answered back with his second of the contest. In the final period, both Hayes and Letang were able to tickle the twine, while Evgeni Malkin put the puck into an empty net to secure the 6-3 victory and two points.

  1. Glad this didn't get too out of hand. Looking like a good night for the Division.

  2. I’ll take it but thought we let a 2-0 lead go and same old “NO YOU ($&@:&&$::$;::764?)!! and lose, but didn’t (sigh)!

  3. Fewer penalties nowadays. I like it. It’s fun to see the big names score on PPs, but few penalties makes for a fast flowing game.

  4. Evgeni Malkin is playing graceful hockey right now. Geno's playmaking is on another level. Geno looks like a new Geno who is leading the way. He's brought Letang back to with another assist. GENO MACHINO!

  5. Love the depth scoring we’re finding so far! Puljujärvi needs to stay in the lineup with the chemistry he’s generating with Eller. Thrilled for Rakell, hoping he has a monster year. And Geno is in Beast Mode, hoping he nets 500 goals in front of the home crowd this week! LGP! 🐧

  6. Geno's on fire right now! Good win but still some stuff to clean up. Eller with a great night. 6 goals tonight for pens and crosby not a single point. That doesn't happen very often.
